Deborah Morris was the Guild's January 2002 Artist of the Month. Deb is one of the artists working on the mural for the betterment of the community.and enjoys the fellowship of other artists in the guild. She has been attending college, majoring in art with the goal of earning a teaching degree. Deb is the mother of ten children, yet makes time to do art. Her favorite subjects are abstracts, and "new mind ideas." She uses acrylics to paint with and is also adept in ceramics. Deb states: "I want all of us to see the Art in each of us. The art of a mechanic, the art of being a carpenter, roofer, mom, seamstress....no one can be you but you, and no one can do what you do... every task is an art."
Iconoclastic Georgia O'Keefe, "one of the first women artists to break through the male stronghold in the Art World" has inspired Deborah in her art.
Deb has a goal of finding ways through art to bridge the generations and wants to help get a non-profit art gallery/art center established, to also help troubled teens to find their talents.
