  Elaine Risedorph

Elaine Risedorph has been awarded the Branch County Art Guild's August 2002 Artist of the Month award. Elaine has been a member of the Guild for 2 years and enjoys the fellowship and learning experiences in the guild.
Elaine has studied art in high school and college, and has received further instruction from Anabelle Hill of Hillsdale..
Elaine's media is primarily watercolor, and flowers are her favorite subject to paint. Her style is representational.
Elaine's favorite artists are Georgia O'Keefe, Steven Blackburn and Tom Lynch. She states, "I greatly admire all three artist's work, and have benefited from Tom Lynch's videos and a workshop conducted by Steven Blackburn." Elaine began advanced watercolors three years ago, but has done art all her life. Elaine's mother is an artist. Risedorph states  "Art has always been a part of my life."
Her greatest goal is to "invoke a desired emotional response in those who view my works. I can NOT create artwork, the pictures in my head have to have some outlet. It's like breathing or eating."
Elaine Risedorph is a cancer survivor and encourages "anyone who has a dream or vision they'd like to accomplish in their life to step up and reach for it. You never know how long you have on this earth to achieve you goals."
Elaine is one of the guild artists working on the mural in downtown Coldwater, and she enjoys the interaction with other artists, and the avenue the guild presents for displaying artwork.
