Art Guild News
2025
The Guild voted to donate to the Branch County special fund for young artists. The donation of $100 will go towards a scholarship fund to help gifted art students with art supplies.
This year the guild is adding on a plein air paint out each month May-October. Members will meet at pre arranged scenic locations to paint from life, outdoors. There is a booklet on plein air painting tips and the membership booklet for free downloads for members.
The guild is having regular meetings once a month at Northview Christian Church. We have a beautiful well lit room and enjoy each others companionship and have classes and paint outs at meetings. Most classes are free, taught by guild members. Some have a minimal cost for supply and to help cover gas money for instructors. New members are welcome.
Also new, each month a "challenge painting" theme is drawn from multiple suggestions and members can create a painting and bring it to the next meeting to share with others. The challenge paintings so far have been cartoon characters and a monochromatic painting. The guild is also showing paintings at several locations in Branch County and some members are involved with the Arts Alive! group which has contests and themes and a gallery in the basement of the Tibbits Opera House. As our group ages, we are happy to have new younger members who we hope can "carry the torch" for us and continue the Art Guild for yet more years to come.

2011
The passing of longtime member, Evelyn Cross, in the Spring, brought members together in mourning.
The first meeting it was decided that the member hosting each event would do their own press release.
Linda Black said she can do a booklet for the guild yearly events.
The membership drive in 2010 was a success, but most new members did not attend the first meeting in March.
Kathryn Barnes said she would host the first event in April. A paint out at a local mill is planned.

2007
Anabelle Hill is the latest to be awarded  Honorary Lifetime Membership in the  guild.

Gallery switches are every three months  now except for the ones at
the Grahl  Center and SMNB

New guild booklets were handed out.  The cover design winner this year was  Travis Klotz.

At the steering committee meeting, members decided it would be great to utilize the talents of members who would be willing to teach and share their expertise and knowledge with other members of the group.
